These are my airplane doodles from my trip. I discovered airplane doodling several years ago on a flight back to Portland from Wisconsin. I was feeling agitated and anxious on the plane and when I started doodling I calmed down and actually started to enjoy myself. Now I look forward to flying because it gives me a chance to draw something without any expectation of what it will be. It's just a doodle. I often find myself racing to get my doodle done before the flight ends and on a couple of occasions found myself wishing the flight was a little longer so I could finish before we landed!
The doodle on the left was done on my 3 flights from Portland to Salt Lake to Atlanta to Savannah. The doodle on the right was done on my 2 flights home from Savannah to Dallas to Portland. I use an old fashioned Bic ball point pen. I highly recommend doodling while you fly to calm nerves and quickly pass the time. You might also surprise yourself with what you create. I'm thinking that either of these designs would make for a great batik pattern....... hmmmm..........we'll see...........
